Film director Todd Haynes has made a Bob Dylan biopic called I’m Not There in which six different actors portray the singer-songwriter. Here is one of the shots to emerge from the set. Cate Blanchett as Dylan from around 1965.

Others who play Dylan in the film include Christian Bale (3-10 to Yuma), Marcus Carl Franklin, Richard Gere (Pretty Woman), Heath Ledger (Brokeback Mountain), and one of the most exciting actors around at the moment, Ben Whishaw, who played Hamlet in Trevor Nunn’s 2004 Old Vic production.

Cate Blanchett appeared in Elizabeth (1998) and The Talented Mr Ripley (1999). In 2001 she was in Bandits, The Shipping News, Charlotte Gray and also played Elf Queen Galadriel in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy.
