A small, closed-to-the-public library at a prison in Münster, in west-central Germany, has received the 30,000 euro national Library of the Year award.

An Egyptian court has sentenced an internet blogger to four years’ prison for insulting Islam and the president.
The victim, Abdel Kareem Soliman, 22, was tried in his native city of Alexandria. He blogs under the name Kareem Amer.
The trial lasted five minutes.
