Playing Bingo

I never thought it would come to this. But there we were, last night, trying to keep up with Mrs Boyes, the fastest bingo caller in the known world. Not easy when she is accompanied by a percussionist/disruption artist with a full set of drums.

The event was, ostensibly, an exhibition of photographs set around a working man’s club in a district of York. The photographer, Chris Coekin’s, opening, was hosted at the Music Research Centre of the University of York.

Free beer and memorable, though not distinguished, sandwiches.

Good thing you weren’t trying to play Bingo in Canada. They play ROUGH.

It’s a great story. Poor guy, he must’ve thought it was his night.

  3. Playing Bingo

I just Googled in on this looking fir something else. What a strange artwork that must have been! Having a drummer in attendance might be just the gimmick for the Bingo Caller Of The Year competition this weekend. I can’t see that one going down too well at the local Gala Bingo though! Are there plans for this to be performed again? :)

About Writing:

. . . both the saint and the poet exist through some propagation of destructive violence. In order to discover what is the centre of themselves, the saint has to destroy the world of evil, and the poet has to destroy the world of specious good. Wallace Fowlie
