Hi John , yes I agree completely , Dementia is a very devastating disease , to the sufferer and to those around them. I watched the grandmother I love deteriorate from the lively and active woman to a quiet , catatonic shell of her former self

Your right writing can help alleviate the pain , it can help you get things into perspective , organize your thoughts and can be a catharsis that can help a lot.

Hi John – I agree that writing assists survival – especially for a carer who can so easily feel isolated. Dementia is a horrible thing, affecting not just the person themself but all their family and contacts. ‘Aimless rambling’ it may seem to be at times – but this can help re-align both the psyche and the soul. Strange, this reading my aimless rambling on another website – asking myself did I actually say that, and like why?
