John Baker’s Blog publishes RSS feeds. This means you can receive any updates to this blog on a daily basis, sent to your computer, without any effort on your part to visit the johnbakersblog site.
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary. RSS is an xml-based format which allows web publishers and blogs to create and disseminate feeds of data, based on the content of their website.
RSS feeds contain article headlines, links, pictures and descriptions. The feeds are updated as the website is updated.
Readers can view the content of the RSS feeds using specialist news readers which allow people to view feeds from multiple sources.
A list of available news readers (aggregators) can be found here. I use Feedreader, which is a desk-based reader for Windows, but you may prefer to use a reader connected with your browser.
Once you have installed a news reader, you can view my feeds by clicking on the orange ’subscribe’ logos in my sidebar.
