A friend sent a Tom Leonard poem through the letterbox to me. That led me to discover his web site and an essay on Fergusson who I discovered also by happy accident by nearly tripping over his statue on the pavement and thus to your website. A three-poem day. Sometimes Serendipity works over time. Now sadly it's back to mop and broom for me while poems dance in ma heid.

This found its way into the AQA GCSE Anthology in 1999. I'm afraid it always makes me think of William McGonagall...
